- What is DinePrivate?
- DinePrivate, a service of Gilt City, is a free online guide for booking your corporate or social private events in New York's top restaurants. Our online restaurant guide and booking system will easily help you find and reserve the perfect space for your event.
- When can I book?
- DinePrivate.com provides 24/7 online booking with real time availability. You no longer have to wait for a restaurant to call you back to arrange your event. Select the restaurant, preview the room, customize your menu and plan all the details whenever you want.
- What is Gilt City?
- Gilt City is a leading lifestyle destination site for the great cities of America, featuring premium access to leading restaurants, spa and salon services, theater events, concerts and more. Although its offers are available only to members, you do not have to be a Gilt City member to use DinePrivate.
How It Works
- How do I use DinePrivate?
- Simply search for the perfect space in a restaurant based on your specific criteria. Select the day of the event and the type of experience (breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, reception, etc.) and the venues that are available that day will appear in your search results. You may browse through all of the results that actually match your criteria and begin the booking process by clicking "Book Now," We'll lead you through the rest!
- Need to further refine your search?
- You can narrow your results by party size, cuisine or specific neighborhood. The more details you input, the more tailored your results will be.
Registration
Do I have to sign up to book on the site?
You may browse through the restaurant directory without an account, but you do need an account to book online. DinePrivate is completely free for users. Simply create an account to book reservations on the site by clicking on "Register" in the upper right hand corner of the screen and provide us with your name, email address and password.
I forgot my password. How do I retrieve it?
If you have forgotten your email or password, you may request it by clicking "forgot your password?" during the log-in process. Please enter your email address and we will send you a new password. Once you have logged in again, you can reset your password to whatever your wish.
How do I view or change my profile?
Once logged in simply click on your user name (in the upper right hand corner of the screen) to view or edit your account information.
My Thank-You Points
- How do I enroll in the DinePrivate rewards program?
- As soon as you sign up to be a member at DinePrivate.com, you are automatically enrolled in the DinePrivate rewards program.
- How do I earn Thank-YouPoints?
- You automatically earn Thank-You Points for every dollar spent on food and beverage when you book an event through Dineprivate.com. After you make a booking, points will be noted on your account as "estimated points." Your final points will be calculated after the event has occurred to ensure that you get the proper amount of points for every dollar that you spend.
- What are "estimated points"?
- Your points will be listed as "estimated points" until the conclusion of your event. At that point, if additional money has been spent on food and beverage, the restaurant will notify DinePrivate of the additional amount and the associated account will be credited with additional points, this way you get points for every dollar you spend.
- Why are points estimated?
- Until your private dining experience has actually occurred, we can only estimate the points you will receive. We wait for confirmation of your booking so that we can make sure that you get all of the points that you deserve. Please allow 24-48 hours for your account to be credited with the proper value.
- How can I view my current Thank-You Points?
- When you log into DinePrivate.com, your reward point value is listed at the top right hand side of the screen. Click on your point value to access a complete breakdown of your Thank-You Points.
- How many points qualify me for rewards?
- Every time your account reaches 5,000 points, you may redeem your points for $150 credit on Gilt City, or a $75 American Express gift card.
- How do I redeem my Thank-You Points?
- When your account has reached 5,000 points, you will receive an email that you have qualified for your reward. The email will link you directly to DinePrivate.com where you can either enter your Gilt City account information to receive online credit, or your mailing address to receive the American Express gift card.
Booking On The Site
- How do I book?

- First, register or log in.
- Select your date, restaurant and the experience you would like to book (for example: "Dinner in the Private Dining Room")
- Enter the number of guests in your party, time of event, name of the reservation, and any promotional code that you may have.
- Select your menu, beverages, other amenities and services.
- Review your selection
- Input your payment information and submit.
- Within 24 hours you will receive a confirmation email from the restaurant through DinePrivate.com.
- What do I do after I get my DinePrivate.com confirmation email?
- Once the reservation is confirmed the restaurant will be in contact with you directly, You may also log in to DinePrivate at any time and select "My Bookings" to view or print your booking details.
- What if the restaurant declines my booking because of a previous booking?
- If your booking is declined, you may start your search over and re-book at another restaurant. You may also email us directly at customerservice@dineprivate.com and we can help you select another venue.
- Can I save my reservation and book later?
- If you have started to book, but cannot complete the process now, just use "the save and finish later" button at the top. Just log in again when you are ready to complete your booking. PLEASE NOTE that all experiences are available until booked. Saving a booking does not make it unavailable to other users on the site. If someone else books it before you go back to complete your reservation it may no longer be available.
- Can I adjust the menu, beverages, or other offerings?
- You can work with each restaurant to customize your event. When in each section, select the lowest price option and then work with the restaurant to customize what you need.
- Besides food and beverage, what other options do you feature?
- Each restaurant's profile will include any other options that they offer. These features may include but are not limited to:
- AV Equipment/ Meeting Equipment/presentation requirements
- Private bar
- Private restroom
- Coat check
- What do the spaces look like?
- Photos of all the private spaces are included in the directory so that you can see exactly what the room will look like.
- Can I print a copy of my reservation?
- Yes you can print as you are making your reservation selections or at the end when you have completed your booking.
- Why am I not receiving confirmation and other emails?
- Many Internet Service Providers and private email accounts use aggressive spam filters that may inadvertently block some of our emails before they reach your inbox. In addition, many free email services (such as Hotmail and Yahoo) may send our messages to your bulk or junk mail folder unless you add our address to your Address Book. Please take the time now to add DinePrivate.com to your personal address book in your email program.
Pricing
- Will I be charged a fee from DinePrivate when booking?
- No, DinePrivate is completely free for users.
- What is a DinePrivate price?
- DinePrivate has worked with the restaurant to get the best price for this space. Note the "DinePrivate price" icon when there is special pricing.
Reservations/Payments
- What credit cards do you accept?
- We accept American Express, MasterCard, and Visa with a U.S. billing address.
- Can I change the credit card used to reserve the event?
- You may change the card on file directly with the restaurant for payment.
- When will the restaurant bill me?
- Your credit card will be used to hold your reservation only and will not be charged for anything. When the restaurant contacts you to confirm your booking you can make your payment arrangements directly with the restaurant.
- Is DinePrivate involved with my financial commitments to the restaurant?
- DinePrivate provides a portal and streamlines the booking process between you and the restaurant. The site does not act on behalf, whether as an agent, representative, or fiduciary, of any venue in any capacity.
Cancellation Policy
- How can I revise or cancel my reservation?
- Once you have reserved an event, you will need to work with the restaurant to change the date.
- If I need to cancel my event, what is the policy?
- Each restaurant has their own cancellation policy. The cancellation policy for a restaurant can be found in their Terms & Conditions. You will be asked to read and agree to these Terms & Conditions before finalizing your booking.
